Cached file is not getting updated (wrong entries gets updated)

When a user access a document (url is http://sirius-wiki.inspirer.orb.biz/ins/en/Documents/M_CPH-1171-00921_EN.pdf), he gets version 7 and not the current version. Looking into his local cache.

It looks like IE is confused when there are duplicate entries where only upper/lower casing differs the address. Fx the last line is notorious wrong because the current version of the document is 186KB and not 241KB.

From other desktops, I always get the correct using the URL above.

The documents are stored in SharePoint list - no approval and no versioning.
Version 7 of "M-CPH-1171-00921_EN.pdf" is 186KB, Version 8 (current version) is 241 KB

The user has of course been told to delete the cache. How can we detect this or prevent this? In this business it could be very risky to use old version of a document.

Thanks,

Jrgen

Hi Jrgen Thyme,

"From other desktops, I always get the correct using the URL above."
Do you mean only this specific machine comes across this issue ?
"The user has of course been told to delete the cache"
Do you mean you have tryied to clear the "browser history"?(Tools \Safety\delete browsering history)

If only the specific machine comes across the issue ,we can try to reset the Internet Explorer settings to get an original configurations to have a check .(Tools \Internet Options \Advanced \Reset)

" How can we detect this or prevent this?"
I think the best solution to this is to create different URL links for different documents if it is possible.

Best regards
