Cache Refresh Options vs Processing Options
Hi All, Could you please explain the differences between Cache Refresh Options & Processing Options? "Cache Refresh Options"... This is what i am thinking (1) We can create multiple cache refresh plans for a given report (2) We can specify different parameters in different refresh plans (3) So, In case, if the user make a search on the report, based on the availabe cache plans, the ReportServer would pick the matching plan and render the data from that cache plan? Please provide your thougths! Prawin Prawin

Hi Prawin, Your understanding is correct. In Reporting Services 2008 R2, we are using the “Cache Refresh Options” page to create schedules for preloading the cache with temporary copies of data for a report or for a shared dataset in Report Manager. We are using “Processing Options” properties page to set report execution properties for the currently selected report. For more information, please see: • Cache Refresh Options (Report Manager) • Processing Options Properties Page (Report Manager) Thanks, Bin LongPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help and unmark them if they provide no help.
