CPU spiking above 95% when BDC profile import (Full and Incremental)
We have daily full profile imports using BDC connection. In that duration, CPU spiking very high. That team is concern. How to resolve this issue. Please anybody have any idea on this? Please share with me.ItsMeSri

I know it sounds like an obvious place to start but what's the spec of the machine? CPU, is it physical/Virtual etc as much detail as you can provide would be useful. Is SQL running on a seperate box etc?

Hi ItsMesri, Thank you for share your problem. If the problem occurs only when the program starting or doing some heavy work, I think this is a normal situation, because program initialization and processing of some tasks may take up a lot of CPU resources, you don’t need to worry about it. It will not cause any other problems. If your meaning is that the usage of your CPU remain at a high state, I think you need to do some operation to bring it back to normal. There are a variety of reasons may cause this problem. First you should make sure which one is the cause of the problem, and then you can solve it more targeted. It is physical box with 16 GB RAM. CPU is spiking all the way till its complete BDC job (not like only initially). I have 85000 records to check and update user profile information. So When ever BDC starts CPU spiking crazy. **** CPU spike in SQL server not SharePoint server **** Need more helpful guys. ItsMeSri
