CMIS producer does not return VersionComments

We are writing an integration against SP2013 and trying to leverage the CMIS Producer.  We are noticing that even if we supply Version Comments to a document we are versioning, they are stored and available through the traditional SP web interface (browsing through the Site/Library).  However, they are never returned as part of the document's properties via CMIS (they should be available in checkinComment, I believe).  We have tried retrieving them via dotCMIS and trying to view the documents via Apache Workbench.  None of the documents ever show that property being set (despite being able to see the value via the traditional interface, as mentioned).

Has anyone else notice this?  Is this a bug?

Thanks,

Hi AJ,

You mentioned you were using dotCMIS to retrieve version information from CMIS repository. According to the OASIS specification, the correct format should be "cmis:versionLabel". Have you ever tried with this format?

Yes.  That is always the property we try to retrieve.  It would appear that SP is not mapping their internal property to that CMIS standard property in the "Producer", so it never returns a value.

Hi AJ,

One thing forget to mention is that the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) Producer feature must be activated in your SharePoint site features before CMIS is available in SharePoint. Besides version, you can try other CMIS properties to see whether they are working.

Please see more information about CMIS in SharePoint here:
