CCMEXEC.EXE Crashing

We have recently implemented a third party tool that runs performance monitoring on computers. We have discovered a number of computers are having this application crash. Any Ideas?

Faulting application name: CcmExec.exe, version: 5.0.7958.1000, time stamp: 0x5230e43c
Faulting module name: rebootcoord.dll, version: 5.0.7958.1401, time stamp: 0x5409066c
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000000027666
Faulting process id: 0x1118
Faulting application start time: 0x01d0aeb2c69bb3ff
Faulting application path: C:\Windows\CCM\CcmExec.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\CCM\rebootcoord.dll
Report Id: 0defe878-1aa6-11e5-aaac-e006e6b8f046

c:\windows\ccm is excluded from antivirus scans

If the only change is that 3rd party tool, what happens if it is removed? Does ccmexec.exe stay running?

Best option is to follow up with the vendor of that tool.

Sorry I should have stated, the third party tool is what made light of it crashing.

It's hard to say what's causing the crash from this information. But based on the client version listed here your endpoints are running the 2012 R2 "RTM" version. There have been four Cumulative Updates since then with numerous bugfixes, plus the recently released SP1 version. I suggest the following:

1. If your SCCM infrastructure has been patched but the client updates have not been pushed out, start by getting the client versions to match the infrastructure

2. If the infrastructure is still at the 2012 R2 "RTM" codebase, consider getting both servers and clients to a newer patchlevel.

Hello,

Process Monitor would be a better tool to troubleshoot such an issue.

As suggested, check if latest Cumulative Updates or SP1 fix the issue.
