CA Analyzer showing MissingWebPart, not finding ErrorWebPart

Hi using http://get-spscripts.com/2011/08/diagnose-missingwebpart-and.html to remove some Missing Dependencies.

I have a webpart being reference 58 times in the db. The wsp is currently deployed. Used the Run-SQLQuery output to track down the site, path, and aspx page. When I performed a ?contents=1 I'm not seeing any ErrorWebParts.

I've recently refreshed the Missing Server Side Dependencies, same results.

Are the odds greater that there is something wrong with analyzer, or do I need to delete all versions of the page? I'd rather avoid that if there's a better solution. Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Scott

Did you make sure that the Foundation Web service was enabled on the server running CA? If not, it can generate false positives in that rule.

Thanks Trevor. Foundation Web is running on both our WFE and APP server.

You could try deleting the alert, and then seeing if it comes back. Or simply ignore it. Where this is really important is when database schema upgrades get blocked -- that is when you need to resolve these types of issues. If your databases are up-to-date, then I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

I'm preparing to join a new server to the farm, so IIRC I'll need to clear these out. There are also over 100 alerts.

Link to deleting these alerts?

Thanks again.

You just open the alert itself and delete it.

That said, you can join a server to the farm with these types of errors in place.

So, edit the Missing server side dependencies as a list item and delete?

You can open the item within the Health Analyzer list and just delete the alert.

That said, again, shouldn't cause any issues joining a farm.
