Bulk Transferring Announcement List Items
Trying to transfer list items. not worried about the attachments on the items just trying to get the main data across. the list is too large to export as a template and I have increased the maximum template size using STSadm but it does not export correctly. also tried exporting using STsadm to no joy.opening the list in data view and copying and pasting the fields doesnt work., it only copies the 1st field.ThanksSharepoint Customiser

Hi,Please ensure your SharePoint instance can handle files greater than 50mb in size is to alter it in the web application:1. Open Central Administration2. Open the Application Management tab.3. Choose Web Application General Settings4. Scroll down until you find the section labeled Maximum Upload Size.5. Changed it.also you ned to change the IIS timeout sessions which by default is 120 seconds. 1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.2. Double-click the name of the server that is running Windows SharePoint Services.3. Double-click Web Sites.4. Right-click the virtual server that you are restoring to, and then click Properties.5. On the Web Site tab, in the Connection timeout box, change the setting to 65,000 seconds.6. Click OK. then try the transfer againBest Regards, Ammar MCT http://ahmed-ammar.blogspot.com Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
