Browse Cubes using SSRS Reports
I am trying to build a report to browse the whole cube using SSRS (the hierarchies are defined in the cubes). I know excel is a great tool to browse the cubes with all the hierarchies defined...and we can define define the columns and rows and filter options. The problem here is the field agents cannot use them on their IPADS to run the reports. we have a reporting server to host the reports which is accessible for the IPAD. My Basic idea is for filters, setup parameters for the data set..i could setup drill down options to the columns and calculate aggregates...so coming to question is there an easy way to browse the whole cube in SSRS..something like building a matrix report ...the company does not have share point integration mode for excel. In short I would like to have the SSRS report look exactly like the one they have in excel...filters, columns, drill into deeper levels, aggregates based on the drill level.any ideas would surely help me(or if someone can guide me to a solution, could not find anything like this on internet)..thanks

Hi Simon445, Excel is more suitable for ad-hoc report, you can design your report at your will when you view the report, you can add the filter, drag the fields on the rows label or column label when you want, so Excel is a Self-Services BI tool. However, Reporting Services is a server-based reporting platform, all the reports has been developed by the professional engineers in advance, then users can view the reports via browser, of course if your device support reoprt builder, you can create dynamical report using report mode. But it is not as elegance as Excel. So to workaround the issue, you can create some parameters with groups value, then use matrix control to create a dynamical group using parameters, you can refer to this link about this method http://blogs.msdn.com/b/chrishays/archive/2004/07/15/dynamicgrouping.aspx This is not a grace method, thanks for your understanding.
