Broken Images only for Some Users
I am the companies SharePoint Admin. I create all sites using the same images to keep it uniform. I recently created a site for New Hires and the logo of the page appears broken for some of the users. The image is being pulled from the sites, Site Assets folder, could you help guide me on what could be causing the problem?

Three common causes:

  • Permissions

Go to the library's settings page and click "Permissions for this document library", click the "Check Permissions" button in the ribbon and then enter the user name of the of the new hires and see if they have permissions to the library.

  • Checked out or unapproved files

Make sure the image is checked in and approved, if your library is using those features.

  • URLs

Do the new hires access the site using a different URL than other users?  For example: http://sharepoint or http://sharepoint.yourcompany.com? Your image may be using an absolute URL instead of a relative URL.

I checked permission on the asset library and the permission are there and correct.

The files are also checked in.

As far as the URL goes, we are all accessing the site the same way by login to Office 365 and than accessing the site.

Any other ideas?

Hi,

I recommend to check the permission on the image instead of the library to see if the users with issue has permission to view the image.

Please select the image which is used as site logo in the Site Assets library > click Shared With button in the ribbon and then click Advanced > click Check Permissions button to check the permissions of the users with issue on the image.

Best regards,

Victoria

Are They using Safari browser or IE. If it is IE..

Kindly Remove the logo and add the logo again to the site which is broken. Hope this is SharePoint online.. Not On Permise...

Hi,

Did you set draft item security for the items in the library?

If yes, please make sure that the draft items have been published.

And did you configure alternate access mapping for your web application?

Please right click the logo image and check the properties of the image to see if the URL of the image is correct.

And please also type the URL of the image directly in browser to see if the users can view the images.

Best regards,

Victoria
