Breadcrumb link not navigating to Default.aspx
For some reason, breadcrumb links in our SharePoint 2007 have been breaking. For example:If I am at http://site.com/siteA/siteB/default.aspxI get breadcrumbs that look like:Site.com > Site A > Site BThe URL for Site.com is http://site.comThe URL for Site A is http://site.com/siteAThe URL for Site B is http://site.com/siteA/siteBClicking on the breadcrumb for Site.com and Site A works fine and when clicked, /default.aspx is added to the URL and the site is navigated to.Clicking on the breadcrumb for Site B, however, does not add /default.aspx and we end up with an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error "The website cannot display the page".It does not happen on all our sites, only a specific few. And it is not only the breadcrumbs but the Site tab at the top of the page as well that does not work. Any ideas? Thanks for your help!

Hi David, I believe the Site B is not having the default.aspx page. Open the site in SharePoint Designer and check whether Default.aspx is there or not. If not then add the same and check the links again. You can also assign the welcome page thru site settings (Publishing Feature should be enabled) Go to Site Settings Welcome Page( under Look and Feel tab ) and click the browse button to select the welcome page. You mentioned this behaviour happens to only few site, can you check for thefollowing in those sites.1. Check to make sure that default.aspx , is present and currently acting as default page (welcome page).2. default.aspx is published and (approved if required)http://razi.spaces.live.com/

Sorry about the long response time. We were able to fix this issue and I forgot to reply to the thread. Basically, the default.aspx page was there for Site B and it was published with a major version. The problem was that http://site.com/siteA/siteB wasn't resolving to http://site.com/siteA/siteB/default.aspx. In the end, we moved the site from one location to another and then moved it back. That seems to have fixed the issue. Thanks for your recommendations. v/r, David Wicke
