Branch DP errors when not using BDP's??
Seems a few times a week I get a slew of the following errors:"Failed to validate package status file "D:\SMS\inboxes\distmgr.box\INCOMING\Z1U58WLN.STA" received from Branch Distribution Point MYSCCMSERVER for package P01002B0."I am not using any Branch Distribution Points. I have 1 Central Primary and 6 Secondaries that are running standard BITS enabled DP's. I get messages like this from everyone of my secondary sites.Anyone have any idea what would be sparking these messages?Thanks!http://www.clientarchitect.com

Wow, completely forgot about this thread and googling the errors again after seeing them again today brought me back to this. :-) To answer your question John, its different packages. I dont see these messgaes all the time and its definitely not all the packages but randomly these messages do appear from various packages. The case today was a new package (within the last week). Thanks!

And you are 100% sure nobody checked the box "enable as a branch distribution point" on the seconadry sites? A secondary site can be a BDP. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

I am 99.9% sure though that when I set up these DP's that they were not enabled as Branch DP's. Looks like its only a setting during the Site System Role installation as that option isnt exposed anywhere that I can see after the fact. Maybe theres a query I can use against the DP to validate the .01% of uncertainty? Thanks!

In the console go to Site Database>Site Management>Expand your primary site>Expand a secondary site>Site Settings>Site Systems. Now in the right pane right click the DP and go to properties. YOu will see whether or not it's a BDP on the general tab. John Marcum | http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/jmarcum/|

Oh yeah, good call. They are not BDP's. I can now say with 100% certainty. ;-)

Heh..no worries. It doesnt seem to have any negative effects which is why I am not making a big issue, just seems odd for sure.
