Boundary changes for primary and secondary sites
Hi We are changing the name of our sites in AD and I need to update the names for our boundaries SCCM. We have a central site, 5 Primary sites and 8 Secondary sites. Do I change the boundaries for the Primary sites and their secondary sites from within the config manager on each of the primary site servers or can I make the changes for all of the sites from within the config manager console on the central site server. Only the names of the sites in AD will be changing. Thanks G

You can change the names from the Central site. It will be updated on the child sites when they are replicatingKent Agerlund | My blogs: blog.coretech.dk/kea and SCUG.dk/ | Twitter: @Agerlund | Linkedin: Kent Agerlund

Thanks Kent I guess I do this under Config Manager \ Site Database\ Site Management\ SCCM Central Site \ Site Settings \ Boundaries on the SCCM Central Site Manager Console as this lists all the Boundaries for the Primary and Secondary sites. If I was to connect onto each of the SCCM site servers for each of the primary sites, could I make the changes there, and if I did, would the changes filter up (I don't plan on doing this but am interested in how it works) ? And another question, can the changes be made on the Central Site server under Config Manager \ Site Database\ Site Management\ SCCM Central Site \ Primary Site 1 \ Site Settings \ Boundaries or Config Manager \ Site Database\ Site Management\ SCCM Central Site \ Primary Site 1 \ Secondary Site 1 \ Boundaries ? (Once again I don't plan on doing it this way but am interested in how it works) I have found info on information on the flow of info between parent and child sites but have trouble trying to get info on where changes to sites should be made. Thanks again G
