Boundary Change
I have some computers that are not picking up their boundary change. What happened was we had all computers in one subnet at a remote office and then the team moved those computers to another subnet, which had no boundary defined, so they all changed their management point from the proxy management point at that site to the central site server here at HQ. I created a boundary for the subnet they all reside in now, but they're not changing back to the proxy management point. How long does that take? Using the SCCM Client Center, I had one of them manually update the MP and it picked up the new boundary and reassigned itself back to the proxy MP at that location, but the others have not done it automatically.

Clinet will not automaticly re-assigned themselves. You will need to use tools like the right-click tools or ConfigMgr Client Center that you already have to do this.http://www.enhansoft.com/

Well that's ridiculous... How can I do it to a bulk set of about 250 machines?

Hi,To re-assign them in bulkthere are scripts or you can use the client assignment ADM file. With this file you can force the reassignment through GPO.More information about that here:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680370.aspxFollow me through my blog and Twitter!

Thanks for the help - Scott, I have the right-click tools installed, but what specifically would I do to have the clients reassign themselves? Would I right-click the collection they're in and go to reassign site code and just enter my primary site code?
Yes, that's exactly what you do... It's possible there could be some boundary overlap (Boundaries from the secondary site are also setup in the primary site). This would cause clients to be assigned to the primary site incorrectly. To fix that issue, remove boundaries from the parent site and make sure they are only setup in the secondary site (they will replicate up to the parent, but they will show the correct site next to them).Scott Gill

It looks like the clients did indeed pick up their proxy MP on their own at some point this past weekend. I'm not sure if there is some timed interval where they check it, but it looks like it took. Thanks for all your help.
