Both SQL 2005 and 2008 databases in the same farm
Hi,Yes, if I am not wrong I think you can place SharePoint Farm Config databases on a server (SQL2005 in your case), this will done during your installation and when you run SharePoint Configuration Wizards you will create a farm, the following databases will be created on the first SQL you connect your farm to it. •Config Database for the Farm •Content database for the Admin Console •Config database for the SSP (Shared Service Providers) •Content database for the SSP Console •SSP Search database •WSS search database then you can have another SQL DB server (SQL 2008 in your case) to host the content DBsjust be sure of accounts permissons and other SQL administrative issue for backup and maintainanceBest Regards, Ammar MCT http://ahmed-ammar.blogspot.com Posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
