The procedures in the link are valid. You just have to skip the part about PXE boot and F12, and instead create a boot image as descibed in my last post. WDS is only needed for PSP (PXE) role, so in your case you don't need it.

Hi, I am new to deploying OSD. I saw the article: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/667-deploy-windows-7/. But I wanted to know if it's the same procedure when I want to burn a bootable media to deploy windows 7 via SCCM, and what services I need to install in SCCM and windows server. Do I need to install PXE role? Thank you.Tiago Souza MCSA:Messaging,MCTS,MCP http://www.portaltecnologia.net

If you want to use a bootable media you do not need the PXE role. Personally I prefer the ability to PXE boot, but that is another discussion. To create a bootable media for SCCM you right click the task sequence that you want to deploy and choose "create task sequence media".

Tks Eirik! About the roles, do I need to install WDS in Windows 2008? The procedures that I've saw at the link are ok? I just need to change the final part, is that right?Tiago Souza MCSA:Messaging,MCTS,MCP http://www.portaltecnologia.net

if you want to PXE boot then you'll need wds installed and you'll need to install the PSP role (pxe service point) My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
