Boot boot file & Manual updates.

Gentlemen, 2 quick questions.

I have created my Customize automated wim base image using MDT 2013 and now the wim file is ready to be deployed via SCCM 2012.

  1.       How can I manually download windows updates as we do not have Wsus server in place. I would like to bring these updates into MDT 2013 and patch my .wim file in future. Any link of advise will be helpful. I do not want to use auto update option in MDT task sequence.
  2.       Since my .wim file has been exported into SCCM2012, Do I need to create a customize boot.wim file as well to boot the system via PXE and Stand Alone media OR I can use the existing standard x86 & x64 boot file to boot the system? What is the best professional way? Again any link or advise will be helpful.

Thanks.

Once you have imported your image into SCCM, use offline servicing to apply the windows updates to your WIM.

You can use the existing boot image, but you need to update / add required drivers to the boot wim.
