Boot Image for SCCM server 2012

Hi,

Which boot image i have to add into the sccm server console.

1.C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\OSD\boot\i386\boot.wim file

or

2.C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.1\Assessment and Deployment Kit\Windows Preinstallation Environment\x86\en-us\winpe.wim file

For Example i will go for the first option  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\OSD\boot\i386\boot.wim file means i can add the same boot image without adding anything like a scripts

if i'll choose second means i need to do create custum boot image or i can add directly?? or  i have to create custum image through ADK??????????

Can you anyone please help me out with brief explanation..

Why will you add boot image when its already added ?.

You could go ahead with OSD with any of the boot images. You have an option to create a custom boot image using MDT. This will be possible when you have integrated MDT with configuration manager.

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\OSD\boot\i386\boot.wim or  C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\OSD\boot\i386\boot.wim

aren't they same ? again, are you missing the default boot images ? if so ,for X86 boot image, use i386\boot.wim and for X64, can use x64\boot.wim from configuration manager installation folder.

if you are trying to create custom images ,you can either directly go by creating MDT integration boot images by adding your custom scripts etc instead of touching the default boot images.
