Hi.
I'm about to embark on trying to fix my PC as something has blown on the motherboard and I'm now realising that my copy of Windows 7x64 Professional is almost certainly an OEM version. Unfortunately, I have already bought new parts before I saw
online that I would have needed to buy the same board as before in order to keep my Win7 license. As the new board is a significant upgrade from the last one I'm going to stick with it now rather than trying to get a replacement for the old board.
I still want to use my existing boot hard drive to save me losing all my setup and am hoping I can use Paragon Advanced Recovery to inject the new hardware drivers I need into my windows installation before I boot the machine back up.
Is there any chance if I email a copy of my receipt for the replacement parts and photos of my old motherboard that Microsoft may be willing to re-validate it.
If not, would it be possible to buy a new license key and just change the license number in my current copy of windows, and if so how much is that likely to be in the UK.
Thank you for reading.
