Blocking from Content database
Hi,
We have MOSS 2007 SP1 databases in SQL Server 2005 EE x64 with SP3. I got the below blocking for the first time in production but I did not understand what is the reason for the blocking. Please advice me to take the correct steps to aviod blocking again
Wait Time Type Resource Command SQL User Program Win User CPU I/O Host Name Status Session SQL DBName 0 AWAITING COMMAND abc\mossadmin Internet Information Services mossadmin 0 0 MOSS2 running, blocking Create Procedure 3,484 LCK_M_U
KEY: 11:72057594040745984 (e90362800af6) SELECT abc\mossadmin Internet Information Services mossadmin 16 0 MOSS1 suspended, blocked Create Procedure WSS_Content_MOSSPROD
Is there way to avoid this from front side (MOSS 2007)? As we cannot change anything on database side

Hi,
I think it is a SQL Server issue. So you’d better turn to the corresponding person in charge.
Hope it is helpful!

We already discussed with DBA & Share point admin and according to DBA, they cannot change any database settings or indexes as Microsoft won't support if we make changes. So we MSUT need to solve this problem from Share point front side.

How large is the datbase?
Does the blocking happen periodically?
Lots and lots of things can cause database locks. Your DBA should be able to see what process is running that is locking the database. Knowing which stored procedure is running would help troubleshoot the issue.
