Bitlocker in refresh scenario with Windows 7 - Windows 7

Hi

I have situation wherein i have computers and laptops for refresh (same hardware will be used and systems will be just installed with new image). workstations doesn't have TPM and are not encrypted with Bitlocker but few laptops are bitlocker encrypted. Both Laptops and workstations have existing BDEdrive as part of previous new installtion done on these system using MDT and BDEDrive volume created. Now i need to modify Configuration manager TS to accommodate reimage for both workstations and Bitlocker encrypted laptops. How should i go about it and what should i include in TS and at what stage.

On laptops that has bitlocker, bitlocker need to be disabled  , user data migration (offline hardlink), enable bitlocker again once migration is done. Workstation doesn't have TPM and will not be encrypted with bitlocker.

I believe Preprovision bitlocker is not an option since i am not partitioning disk due to refresh scenario and user data migration.

I am wondering at what stage i need to disable bitlocker since i am using offline hardlink migration that runs in WinPE.

Any pointers will be appreciated.

Add step "Disable Bitlocker" -step as first step to your TS and start your TS from the FullOS instead of WinPE (do not use PXE for starting).

Hi,

Since its Config manager 2012 R2, it doesn't support win xp to win 7 referesh from within OS (TS launch fails unless i use WinPE3.1) , i am starting refresh by booting system from bootable USB. Is there any way to disable bitlocker in WinPE  (like any WMI, script or any other way)?

...and XP doesn't support Bitlocker so what are you trying to do? You cannot disable Bitlocker from WinPE, this has to be done from the FullOS.

Simple Partition Disk 0 will wipe all the partitions off your disk, regardless if it's Bitlocker protected or not.
