Bitdefender Total Security 2013 vs ESET Smart Security 5

Which antivirus is better?

This site: http://anti-virus-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ said Bitdefender

But a close computer engineer friend said ESET.

I have a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

2GB of RAM.

What do you recommend on this two only.

I think it is better eset smart security because it has a better heuristic than bitdefender I  try Bitdefender for 5 months and then try ESS 8 and it has a better heuristic

So does Windows 8 still needs an antivirus when it has already Windows Defender?
