Big issue with list and content type
Hi, Currently I am finghting 4 hours with list and content type. When I want to add content type to list as base content type, ComException occurs saying that formula in some column (doesnt say which) refers to column that doesn exists... I tried everything, deleting the content type, deleting list, adding them in different order, deleting site columns which automatically were added to site columns.. nothing helps :( Fact is, that I create new content type with the same name - but afted deleting it, the old columns shouldnt be stored? otherwise where they would be stored? The scenario was: first I had content type with calculated column with formula and in this formula I refered to column X Then the column X was deleted but the formula column stayed there Then the content type was copied to another site collection Here the problems started, I couldn create list based on this content type Then the formula column was deleted from content type and site columns After then I create lists and I cant add this content type to it. Thats strange - I dont see this formula column in site columns neither in content type. I dont see any columns with formulas in Sharepoint Manager What to do?

While I am a little confused about the steps you took, Site columns persist only within a single site collection, as do content types. If you copy a content type from one site collection to a second site collection, and that content type refers to a custom column, you must create that custom column in the destination site collection. It will no be created automatically, it is not part of the content type. Try creating your custom column in the site collection you copied the content type to.Imagine what we could be...If we could just imagine. Daniel A. Galant
