Bar graph custom value axis label
I have created a bar graph to present which response was returned form a choosen list. My data set looks something like this: PossibleAnswer ActualAnswer Ordinal Green Red 1 Blue Red 2 Yellow Red 3 Red Red 4 What I'd like to do is have the value labels as the PossibleAnswer in order of the Ordinals. However I'm unable to change the current automatic numbers which appear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi WinceyWillis, From your description, do you mean that you need to display the “PossibleAnswer” status as the Axis labels and sort by “Ordinals”? If so, we can change the labels and sort Axis value. Please refer to the steps below: 1. In the Category Groups(Series Groups) section of the chart, right-click on the field and select “Category Group Properties…”(Series Group Properties). 2. In the “Label:” section, we can specify other field as the Axis labels in the chart. 3. Click “Sorting”, we can change the group order by adding a SORT command to the query or by sorting the dataset using an expression. For more information about Formatting Axis Labels on a Chart (Report Builder 3.0 and SSRS), please see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd239363.aspx If I have something misunderstood, please point out. Hello Bin, Thank you for your response. What I'm attempting to achieve is to override the default number values along the X Axis on a Horizontal chart. In the example below, 0,1,2,3,4 and 5 will need to be the possible values using the ordinals on where to replace the numerical values with the associated text. Does that make things a bit clearer?

Hi WinceyWillis, Currently, we can only customize the Category Label but cannot customize the value label. The value labels will reflect the actual values in the chart. I recommend you that submit this suggestion at https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/. If the suggestion mentioned by customers for many times, the product team may consider to add the feature in the next SQL Server version. Your feedback is valuable for us to improve our products and increase the level of service provided.
