Backup and Restore resulting in URLs pointing to old server
Hi, Has anyone come across a scenario in SharePoint 2007 where once you restore a content db on a different machine the URLs for some of the documents / images still continue to point to the old server? Any insight / help will be greatly appreciated. Regards, Jay

I've run into this before and used AAM as a workaround. This can happen if you didn't use relative URLs for everything. This whitepaper may help: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee720448.aspxWahid Saleemi Sr. Consultant, Avanade http://www.wahidsaleemi.com

Hi, This is common when you are not restoring to the actual url you are using, try to restore the backup by stsadm to the new url name you are using

Hi, One of the reasons could be use of absolute URL and not the relative one for creation of link. For resolving the issue change the URLs to relative one. Also keep in mind that if you are using content editor webpart for displaying image and providing relative URL, content editor web part will change it back to absolute !!! Hope this helps. Regards.
