I only see port 445 being used for CIFS/SMB traffic between the Site Server and remote DPs. 

Is there a way to enable BITS to be used from the Site Server to my DPs, or is BITS not used between them and exclusively between the DP and the clients instead?

Hi,

BITS is only used between DP's and Clients, there is no way of enabling BITS for that traffic.

Not even configuring a remote Pull DP will use BITS from the Site Server?

Is there anyway at all to force BITS to be utilized from the Site Server to remote DPs? 

Perhaps configuring BranchCache?

My Site Server is running Server 2012 R2 Standard and my remote DPs are running Windows 8.1

PullDPs will use BITS for downloading content.
