BITS_CCM_Incoming Cleanup?
I inherited an SCCM infrastructure, and there is a scheduled task configured on each of the SCCM sites. The task is configured to run once every 12 hours, and the command looks like this:
C:\Windows\system32\rundll32.exe C:\Windows\system32\bitsmgr.dll,Cleanup_RunDLL /LM/W3SVC/1/Root/CCM_Incoming "BITS_CCM_Incoming_{770B2535-4810-4D0C-9F36-7A15787D85EE}" {770B2535-4810-4D0C-9F36-7A15787D85EE}
I found an article at
http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/smslist/archive/2009/05/29/mssms-bits-ccm-incoming-scheduled-tasks-herd.aspx
This article indicates that this task is used to cleanup orphaned BITS jobs, but I can't find anything about
it on Microsoft forums or web pages.
Any idea what this is and/or if this is something I need?
Thanks, --Jo

I have never configured that myself, and my sites are running fine.Kent Agerlund | My blogs: http://blog.coretech.dk/author/kea/ and http://scug.dk/ | Twitter @Agerlund | Linkedin: /kentagerlund

Agreed.
I, too, have an entire global infrastructure of 200+ sites and I've never configured it either. I would just like to know why it was implemented before I remove it (or perhaps decide to keep it) from the infrastructure that I recently inherited - just
wondering if anyone else has come across this.
Thanks again! --Jo

That task is created automatically by ConfigMgr.Torsten Meringer | http://www.mssccmfaq.de

LOL! You're so right, Torsten. I just checked some of my own sites and they, too, have that task. Thanks for setting me straight... a little embarrassed here.

This must only apply to x64 installations of SCCM. We have this installed on Windows 2008 x86 systems and the task does not exist.

There's no such thing as a 64-bit installation of ConfigMgr 2007; ConfigMgr 2007 is a 32-bit application and there is no difference when installing on 32-bit or 64-bit system.Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com
