Hi all I have currently got SQL Server 2005 Standard installed, along with BIDS 2005. We have also started using Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 here. AX comes with some reporting tools which only work with BIDS 2008 / Visual Studio 2008. I am looking to install BIDS 2008 Express, to be able to use these AX reporting tools. Some questions I have are: 1 - How do I install just BIDS 2008 Express by itself, is it even possible? 2 - Will BIDS 2008 Express work with our SQL Server 2005 Standard databases? By this I mean, can I create reports in BIDS 2008 Express where the data source will be a database in SQL Server 2005 Std? 3 - Instead of BIDS 2008 Express, can I use Visual Studio 2010 Express instead? 4 - Will the AX reporting tools work with BIDS 2008 Express? All we use BIDS/VS for in our company is to create reports, they are not used for anything else at all. So presumably the Express edition can cover that? Hopefully someone can answer this as I have no idea. Cheers Naz
