BACK UP OF SHAREPOINT SERVER

Hi,

I got a 3 tier Sharepoint farm with 1 WFE, 1 APP server and a DB server, with sharepoint  and MSSQL installed. I would like to take backup of each server- the WFE,APP and DB and restore the farm in case of a disaster. May I have the exact method to take backup of each server.

For the DB server do I need to take the backup for the whole instance or each DBs one-by-one?

P.S: I am new to DB backups

Hi,

Quoted:

We recommend that you regularly back up the complete farm by backing up both the configuration and content. Regularly backing up the farm reduces the possibility of data losses that might occur from hardware failures, power outages, or other problems. It is a simple process and helps so that all the farm data and configurations are available for recovery, if that is required.

Here is a list of articles on TechNet and related resources provide information about backup solutions for SharePoint 2013:

You may refer to Content Database part for DB questions.

Hi,

I have taken the whole backup of the DB server including the config_DBs + DB of my web apps. Now in a scenario if I lose my DB server how do I restore all the DBs that I have backedup and restore my farm?
