Azure as a offisite Backup

Hi,

I am interested in knowing the pricing model for Azure Backup. My set up is something like this,

I have a central backup server and from which I want put some data (5TB/Week approximately) to Azure. This data has to be kept for Long and retrival requests are minimum.

I tried looking up in the Portal, but not much self explanatory information there.

If I put 5TB/week, that will be 20TB/Month. However, I want to take out 15TB(I mean delete) every month.

How will the Pricing model work for such an implementation ?

Hi Athreya,

I am not too sure about your implementation. But I see Pricing FAQ for Backup that might help : https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/backup/

I recommend you to raise a free billing support ticket via https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/options/ so that the corresponding engineers might look into your subscription details and help you on the query

Hello Athreya,

Azure Backup use has two components protected instances and storage and these two components appear as separate line items on the monthly Azure bill.

Protected instances is the instance or server where you install the Azure Backup Agente and you pay $5 for first 50GB, when backup additional $50 you pay $10 and when you backup more 500GB you need pay additional $10.

Storage is the other bill product on Azure Backup using LRS or GRS Block Blob Storage.

I'm upload screenshot from Azure Calculator for Azure Backup, send 2 URLs Azure Calculator for Azure Backup and Azure Backup and FAQ

Please let me know if this Information help you and if you another go ahead.

Regards.

Hi Thanks for the replies.

I see the per GB price is $.0.04.

Is there any price for deleting the data periodically ?

I want to use Azure as a destination to replace the tapes.
