Automatically limit permissions after creating an item?
I'm trying to figure out if there's any way to achieve this permissions scenario: I have a list where every person in the company needs to be given the ability to create new items. Once created, I don't want anyone else to be able to edit that item except the original creator (or admins). Something like dynamically setting permissions on individual list items upon creation. Is this possible? Thanks!

Are you looking to do this in a list or a survey? The survey has an option to limit each person to editing their own items, but within a list this would be a bit harder.Steven Andrews | SharePoint Professional | http://www.twitter.com/backpackerd00d | https://baron72.wordpress.com/

Hi , You can to set Edit Access :open the list>Settings>List Settings>Advanced Settings>Edit Access>Only their own .But if the user have ‘full control’ permission, then he can edit the items of the others. For more information ,please refer to this site: SharePoint Item-level Permissions - Edit Access: http://www.amosfivesix.com/sharepoint/16-sharepoint-item-level-permissions-edit-access Thanks,Entan Ming

In case you are using a kind of list template where Item Level Permissions are not available in Advance List Settings, then you could acheive the same with SharePoint Designer workflow using Impersonation step, and using actions like Remove list item permission, and Add list item permission.Aleem Sheikh | SharePoint Architect/Developer | MCPD(SP 2010), MCTS(MOSS 2007), MCAD(.Net), MCSD(VS 6) | London, United Kingdom
