Automatic Deployment Rule for Endpoint Protection - Last Error Code 0X80004005, Last Error Description Unspecified error

Hello Forum

I have an issue with my SCCM 2012 SP1 deployment.  In short, the Automatic Deployment Rule for endpoint protection is not installing the SCEP client on new systems, but, failing with the error mentioned in the title.

Clients can successfully get the SCCM client itself installed, but, not the endpoint client.  Systems with the endpoint client already installed before I started getting the error, they can continue to get their definitions updated.

It's just that new systems that I need to have SCEP installed are not getting them and I get the error when I try to manually run the deployment rule.

I'm a SCCM novice, so, I'm no sure how to troubleshoot this issue.  I've spent about 3-4 weeks googling for info, but, I'm going nowhere with that.

Below is what I think is the applicable snippet from the ruleengine.log from the SCCM server that is related to my issue.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Mike

Hi,

The Automatic Deployment Rule has nothing to do with the installation of the SCEP Client on managed Systems. Could please check your Client Settings if anything changed in the Endpoint Protection Section of it?

Do you have a proxy in place?

Best Regards
