I am not using any third party products. I install iFilter for AutoCAD files. Is iFilter supports only for search...!! won't be support for read and write the AutoCAD file through SharePoint.. ? While opening the AutoCAD files through SharePoint there are temporary resource files also creating and running. When i tried to save the AutoCAD file saving as .bak without metadata in document library. Is there a way that we can develop workflows to group the resources files and save AutoCAD files with .DWG extension with metadata...! Appreciate the replies.

iFIlter is only for search, so yes that's working as expected. The problem is that there's no association between the AutoCAD application and SharePoint. You can probably add some more information, such as an icon and Mime Type, and even add some metadata property mapping via the search options but I'd imagine that's about it. Any workflows you can develop would have to be done via Visual Studio, the SharePoint API and whatever API AutoCAD opens up. On a comparatibe basis, getting a third party tool might be a cheaper option.Steven Andrews | SharePoint Professional | http://www.twitter.com/backpackerd00d | https://baron72.wordpress.com/
