Authentication prompt when opening locally saved, SP-sourced Word file

I am downloading copies of Word documents that are sourced from a SharePoint document library that includes two "Person or Group" columns, which are linked to our organization's staff directory.

When I try to open the now-local copy, I am getting two SP authentication requests, presumably, one for each column.

Is there a way to prevent this authentication request from appearing, now that the copy of the original file is off SP?

Thanks

Hi,

Based on your description, you want to avoid authentication prompt when opening the word document downloaded from the SharePoint library.

To narrow the issue scope, I recommend you to check things below:

1. Create another library without Person or Group columns and do the same option to check if the same situation will occur.

2. Test the same scenario in another computer and open the documents to check if the same issue will occur.

3. Which version of Office do you use to open the documents?

Best regards
