Attachments folder not visible in Site content and Structure
I added a new folder called 'Attachments' in a document library. It is visible in document library with no issues. but if i go to the Site content and structure which is available under Site Administration, the attachments folder is not visible in the left explorer bar though it can be seen in the right side panel. Please let me know if this is a bug or default behaviour of SharePoint. Thanks.

Believe its a default behaviour and surprised to see such a behaviour>Strange part is its only happens for folder named 'Attachments', If you make it 'Attachments1' or Attachment, i will show up.Sivai, seems like you are the first person to point out such a scenario.im eagerly waiting to hear from experts on this.......Regards, Aj (http://www.aj-sharepoint.blogspot.com/) MCTS

Well I guess you read the question with more accuracy than I did.Nice research, but I'm not really surprised, choosing a word like Attachments for a folder was bound to be suspect.FAQ sites: (SP 2010) http://wssv4faq.mindsharp.com; (v3) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com and (WSS 2.0) http://wssv2faq.mindsharp.com Complete Book Lists (incl. foreign language) on each site.

Hi Sivai, It's an interesting behaviour. Regarding this behavior, there is no bug record in internal database. I think it is by-design. Document library is inherited from List class. There is a hidden folder called “Attachments” in list. Per my understanding, it seems that SharePoint preserves this folder in advance. When you create a folder which has the same name as “Attachments” in document library, SharePoint will regard it as the default “Attchments” folder in list and hide it in “Content and Structure”. Hope this helps. Lu Zou

Hmm........seems like this is the best justification for the issue, nothing else fit to the part.Regards, Aj (http://www.aj-sharepoint.blogspot.com/) MCTS
