Assign Sharepoint task to group
How do you assign a sharepoint task to a group of users where you want each user to work on the task individually. Itseems that Sharepoint allows you to assign a task to a group, but then when one member of that group accepts the task and completes it, it is done for the whole group.

I know for the built-in Approval workflow there is an option for whether to handle the group the way you describe or to create individual tasks for each person. That workflow is written in Visual Studio and I assume opens the group and reads the membership to create tasks if you choose the second option. I suspect you would need to do it the same way. If you are using SPD to build the workflow I don't think there is an option available for creating multiple tasks for each group member. So you would have to do your workflow in Visual Studio. Either way there is no way that you could create one task for a whole group and yet have it track individual completions. You would need to create one task for each group member.Paul Stork SharePoint Server MVP

We had such requirement some time ago, and we used our own created workflow - it was single workflow attached to document, but it required all group members to 'sign' or put some of their works there sending them individual tasks, that is, creator specifies the group, but workflow itself creates individual tasks for all members. _______________________________ Zorayr Zakaryan Lightning Tools
