Approval Workflow and Document version

Hi,

I try to associate a version of a document to a task of a approbation workflow.

My purpose  : When a approval submit a document's change, i need to preserve document's historic linked to the task of approval workflow.

Is there a native way to do that ?

Regards.

Hi,

As I understand, you want to associate a version of a document to a task of approbation workflow in SharePoint 2010.

Do you want to the change the related content to the document previous version in the approval workflow task?

If it is, you could add the event receiver in the task list. You could update the related content column with the URL of the document previous version by adding custom code in the event receiver.

The article below is about creating an event receiver in SharePoint 2010.

Thx for your reply.

For SharePoint Online in O365, must i extend a SharePoint Add-in by adding a remote event receiver or is there another solution ?

Best regards.

Hi Gilles,

As my knowledge, you could create a remote event receiver to achieve it in SharePoint online.

For more detailed information, you could refer to the article below.
