Application revision: practical usage?

Hi,

I have some idea of what the conccept of "application revision" consists of.
However, I don't see the practical use of it, at least we never used it/needed it.

So my question: do you use it and if yes, where do you see the added values? This so we might reconsider our application deployment infrasturcutre and build in the use of this feature.

Please advise.

Hi,

The biggest benefit is that you can see how changed what in an application, I almost never use the feature to restore a revision but it is useful to see who made a change and what from a troubleshooting perspective.

Application version is not feature that you can enable or disable. when ever you make changes to the application(deployment types),it creates the history(revision) that will help to revert back later if you feel, you wanted to revert the old version of app for ex: you have changed the detection method rule for deployment type and you realize,it is wrong ,in this case,it will help you to restore the previous version. What ever you do the changes to deployment type ,it creates revision .
