Application Availability Monitoring
Hello, I am trying to monitor an internal application that REQUIRES authentication. Using the wizard, I see no way of adding credentials, therefore, my test fails with a 401 error. Is there anyway to monitor internal applications that require and/or use authentication?

Hi Use the web application transaction monitoring, rather than availability monitoring: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh457597.aspx http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-CA/operationsmanagergeneral/thread/892e5459-df34-4897-899d-87f5c0cc1a97 http://kevingreeneitblog.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/scom-2012-recording-web-browser-session.html http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh457597.aspx The availability monitoring relates to GSM: http://blogs.technet.com/b/momteam/archive/2012/06/19/global-service-monitor-for-system-center-2012-observing-application-availability-from-an-outside-in-perspective.aspx Cheers GrahamRegards Graham New System Center 2012 Blog! - http://www.systemcentersolutions.co.uk View OpsMgr tips and tricks at http://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/

Under the General tab, I don't have additional configuration options. All that is listed for me to input is: Name, Description, Management Pack.

Hi Keep clicking next! When you get to the Summary page, you'll see a checkbox at the bottom of the screen for "Configure Advance Montoring or record a browser session". You need to check that box which will bring up thw web application editor for you to do the advanced configuration.
