App won't deploy
I created a new package. The Program EXE line is this: msiexec.exe /p Communicator.msp /qn L*v c:\windows\build\OC2007R2.log REBOOT=R In the Status Messages here is my Message ID 10005 Program started for advertisement "BOS2051B" ("BOS0019C" - "Office Communicator 2007 R2"). Command line: "C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe" /p Communicator.msp /qn L*v c:\windows\build\OC2007R2.log REBOOT=R Working directory: \\HQP-SM-APP01\SMSPKGD$\BOS0019C\ User context: NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM Yet, it never runs on the target machine. This .msp takes about 1 min to run tops. I've waited over 1 hour and it never runs. Why? Thanks. mqh7

I also need to mention that I can push other packages to this same machine and they work. Is my Msiexec command line correct for a .MSP? Yes, it was syntax. I needed /L*V for the logging. :)
May 19th, 2011 3:44pm

did you try to run this commandline from the prompt as well ? Because if this does not work either, you syntax is indeed wrong. For the communicator msp I use : msiexec.exe /p communicator.msp /qn /l*v %windir%\Communicator2007r2PATCH.log /norestart Jeroen

Can you set command without msiexec.exe. communicator.msp /qn SMS / SCCM automatically adds commandline msiexec.exe with msi /msp packages. However its recommanded but i have deployed couple of package without using msiexec.exe.
