Any method to command all list items to re-inherit permission from their parent?
Hello, One of our users controls a custom list with thousands of items. At some point he decided to break inheritance at the item level and apply custom permissions to each entry. He was now realized that this is ungainly and would like to force all the list items to re-herit permissions from their parent list. I cannot find any method to do this aside from opening up each item and changing permissions back to inherit. Any ideas on how this could be done for all items in one swoop? Thanks, Matt

Hi Matt, There is a trick to do this OOB SharePoint. Does the site containing the list has unique permission? If not break inheritance and then go back to inherit permission from the parent again. This should reset all the list level permissions. Caution: please note if there is any other list with unique permission under that subsite - it will reset that too. So please test that in a test environment before executing in a production farm. Hope this helps!BlueSky2010
