We have a standalone server with the application and database portions of SharePoint 3.0 on it. We need to migrate to a two server system with the apps on one and the DB on the other. We'll be using Win2003 Server on both with SQL 2005 on the DB server. Are there any White Papers that cover this migration? Has anyone else done this? We would like to try this as if it were a backup restore just to test our disaster recovery. We will be going (eventually) to SharePoint 2007 Enterprise.
