Anonymous Access to Calendar Items
We have a Publishing site with Collaboration Features turned on and we have created a calendar to display events. The entire site has been given anonymous access but when an anonymous user clicks on a calendar item to view the details, they are prompted to authenticate. Is this normal behavior or should the users be able to read the event description anonymously? If so, how is that configured?

I am having the same sort of issue, but you can't even view the calendar items before logging in...it just appears blank. I want my users to at least be able to see the items on the calendar! We have a Team Site with Annonymous Access Enabled...Nicole Cash

This isn't a simple fix so I'm going to list out several links already posted around this... In a nut shell there is a feature to block the view for All Items" in lists that causes these symptoms by design. One thing to think about it search engine’s like Bing and Google… With this feature turned off site wide it could index all items in all lists if you don’t follow these instructions. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc263468(office.12).aspx <- TechNet http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1423274/sharepoint-calendar-list-troubleshooting-anonymous-access <- Paul Stork Kris WagnerKris Wagner, MVP, MCITP, MCTS Twitter @sharepointkris Blog: http://www.sharepointkris.com/blog
