An unexpected error has occurred.

We are using Sharepoint 2010, and ever since upgrading the PCs to Internet Explorer 11 (possibly 10 as well, I don't know), we get so many error messages using Sharepoint.

Basically anything that you can "Edit the properties" of, so a file, a list item, an area news item, etc... as soon as you click save, you just get:

Error

An unexpected error has occurred.

If i switch my IE 11 to IE 8 mode then I don't get the error, or occasionally it works in Opera as well, but it is incredibly annoying to have to keep doing that every time I need to edit something.

So it is basically unusable for most of our staff who have IE 11 on their machines.

Is this a common problem with IE 11 and Sharepoint? Is there anything we can do about it?

Hi Conn- yes, there are plenty of known issues with IE 10/11 and SP. Your best bet is to make sure you're running in 32-bit only. Setting the compatibility will also resolve issues. See the following links for info:

HI,IE11 is having some compatibility issues with the share point.Ensure the IE is 32-bit only.please check the link below that explains more in details about the IE11 compatible issues.
