Alternate Access Mapping Question - Forms Auth
I have a site i have extended to forms authentication.e.g http://myservername:8080 to http://extranet:7070 The admin guy added a reverse proxy and the public address users use to get to site is https://extranet.companyname.com/sitename It all works but users have problem exporting lists and not seeing the Export to Spreadsheet Option from the Actions menu.( I did enabled the client integration and the option showed up but they still can't export data)They sometimes get error "The server is busy at this time.Changes to your data can't be saved"Also when users click attachments on lists they get prompted and nothing happens. Can users using forms Auth click to open up attachments??? Do i need to do something with the AAMs?In the AAM i have:Internal URL :http://extranet:7070Zone: ExtranetPublic Zone URL :https://extranet:7070Do i need to change the Public Zone URL?THanks in Advance

did you try with http://myservername:8080 and see if the lists are getting exported? did you verify if the excel services are running on the sharepoint farm? did you verify if its the same issue with other lists too? I believe there has to be a change in the setting of the list from where you are trying to export to excel. let me know your findings

ssm225in, Thanks for the response.Yes the list does export when i use http://myservername:8080 and i use my Windows Auth acct to login. But not when login in as forms auth. This site is on WSS v3 so i don't have any excel services i presume.Yes all other lists behave the same:(

can u do one thing? you had extended the website so that you can host it to extranet.. revert back and try to do it again.. i think, this didnt happen properly.. but before doing this.. i would like you to check for - 1>log files of sharepoint, event viewer and also the IIS logs.. and see if any error has come up there... 2> Also try to upload any document to the extranet site.. see if that works? There may be permission issue which you might have missed.. Make sure that you are accessing the extranet site using the admin account using which you had configured WSS.
