Allow User to edit Custom Fields In User Information List
I know that when you try to edit your user profile through My Settings there are no editable fields, however I found that I could add a field to the User Information List and I was able to add my own text into that field. However currently only the site administrators have the editable text box show up for the field I added. Our regular users can not edit the field, though and we would like them to be able to. How can I give users edit rights to the User Information List so that they can edit that field for themselves alone, without giving everyone full access to the UIL?Thanks!

Hi, If you want users can change their own user information, these users should have Edit Personal User Information permission. By default, the permission is included in these permission levels Contribute, Design, Full Control. Hope it helps.Xue-Mei Chang
