Not even something in the Users node? If not, check the adusrdis.log for more information about the discovery.

It says there are no AD containers specified.

In your Console, Administration, Hierarchy Configuration, Discovery methods.

for your "Active Directory User Discovery" (where Status = Enabled)

if you right-click on that, properties.  in the "General" tab (the first one), are there valid containers listed there?  It's usually something like LDAP://OU=SomeOuWhereYourUserAccountsLive,DC=your,DC=Fully,DC=Qualified,DC=Name

Recursive is usually Yes, Group excluded. (at least for us it is) and we use the Site Server as the account.

Your ADGD configuration should resemble something like this.

That seems to have solved the problem. Now I will just setup group discovery. Thanks.

By chance do you happen to know System Discovery defaults?

Thanks

I don't remember the defaults, I already have system discover configured it both my production and lab environments. I can discuss my current settings if that would help.

I'm new to SCCM. I'm learning as I go along. I'm just looking for defaults and best practices.

Some notes about system discovery, a system is only discovered if it is registered in DNS. So if there is an AD object a living OS has to be installed for ADSD to pick it up. You have to specify what domains where you want discovery to run. I would suggest enabling delta discovery with a 5 minute interval. There are different perspectives on this number. I use a short one because we have a large environment with multiple IT pros managing desktops through the University of Missouri. Select and additional attributes you want polled from AD, I only added one additional from the defaults, adminDescription. Hope this helps.

I suggest picking up the System Center 2012 \ R2 Configuration Manager unleashed book by Jason Sandy, and several other MVP's.
