All System Centre Stack on 1 Instance of SQL Server

Apologies : there does not appear to be a forum where this fits

I am in the process of doing a design for a client who wants the whole system centre stack installed but on one instance of a SQL 2012 Cluster.

I can find

SQL Server Requirements for System Center 2012 R2:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn281933.aspx

which states "

For testing purposes only, one SQL Database Engine Services instance may be used for all components, but is not recommended in a production setting due to performance concerns."

however what I need is something to back this up and there does not appear to be anything available.

Can someone please point me in the right direction for something to back this up.

regards

Andy

Why do you need another source that states the same? You already quoted the official documentation from the vendor.

Surely that is enough information you need. Just do not do it.

Not only is it a truly bad idea but it is not possible.

You will find a lot of information on the subject here

http://www.systemcentercentral.com/sql-instances-and-system-center-2012-sysctr-sql-scom-sccm-scsm/

Example:

Components of System Center 2012 which uses SRS cannot share the reporting services instance. Components with SRS based reporting include: Operations Manager, Service Manager, Configuration Manager, Data Protection Manager.

Hi,

Configuration Manager is not in the list and SQL reporting Services instances cannot be share so you need att least thre SQL Server Reporting Services Instances of course dependeing on which components you use.
