Alerts subscription criteria
Guys, Need a little help subscription criteria. There is no problem to create criteria to notify about Alerts “that was resolved in specific time period”. I actually want to be notified about Alerts “that was NOT resolved in specific time period” I would expect it to work same way rules work in Outlook, but I don’t know how to activate “except” page. Wanna do as simple as: For alerts generated from 9AM to 5PM notify if not resolved within 15 min For alerts generated from 5PM to 9AM notify if not resolved within 45 min Should be piece of cake, but I cannot figure it out :-(

Guys, Should I post this question in a different forum? If it was already answered or no-brainer, could you point me, where to look for solution, please?

Hi OpsMgr can sort of do this via alert aging on each subscription. You don't get the alert immediately something is wrong but only after x minutes For alerts generated from 9AM to 5PM notify if not resolved within 15 min - set alert aging to 15 minutes on this subscription For alerts generated from 5PM to 9AM notify if not resolved within 45 min - - set alert aging to 45 minutes on this subscription http://www.scom2k7.com/drastically-reduce-alert-noise-in-scom/ But don't use this setting if you also want to set the notification to fire when alerts are closed ( due to the way this works, you won't get the new alert but you will get the closed alert notification). If you want a nag mode (alert when problem occurs and then another alert after x minutes) then take a look here: http://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/2009/07/20/nag-mode/ Cheers GrahamView OpsMgr tips and tricks at http://systemcentersolutions.wordpress.com/

Graham, I honestly expected something different (“Outlook style” except), but the workarounds you showed are good enough. Thank you. These tricks should be in the FAQ, don’t you think?
