Alert created for a list is not working properly
I have a list of type announcements which has an alert created to send email notification when new item is added and the alert should send daily 5.00 PM. Now I created a new item. Before 5 PM evening I made lot of modification to the item. I expect share point will send the last modified item as the email. But it is sending the initial version. That means there is a mismatch of the email and the item shown to the users. How I can resolve this issue. I am using sharepoint 2007

Hi, I think this is default behavior for you have set alert on item added which means that when item is added its version is 1.0 which is scheduled to be sent.When you update it changes the version to 1.1 but that comes under item updated. So either you can try creating a custom event handler or try maintaining the original version when uploading by selecting option override original version ThanksAlok Please set answered or vote helpful if the post answered the question

I tried that also. While setting alert I don't have an option to send only approved items. If I enable "Require content approval for submitted items?" to yes. The alert mail comes with unapproved items as well.
