Alert Suppression in SCOM R2
Hi All,
In SCOM 2007R2 environment we get lots aof duplicate alerts which were raised for dynamic values but the issues remains the same.I remember reading that we could suppress such alerts ,but I can do it for an rule generated from unsealed Management pack not
for a rule from an sealed management pack.
I would appreciate if someone help me in fixing this issue.raj

actually you give the answer yourself already. you will need to create the rule yourself in an unsealed mp and disable the rule in the original sealed mp (unless the mp author exposed this as an override, but they almost never do).
To me this is something that shouldn't be "sealed" but always available like the "enable/disable" parameter of a rule.Rob Korving

Hi Rob,
I agree to the point, but i have exchagne 2010 MP which has lots of such alerts.Do I need to follow the same steps like disabling the alerts and creating each one of them and save them in an unsealed mp and then supress them?
It is going to be an hectic job if it is so.
